Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is arriving on PC on Feb. 1 and the game will see new updates and unlockables for gamers.
The game will run 60 fps (frames per second) and will be compatible with a 21:9 monitor. As for the unlockables, all three background music options will be unlocked from the start of the game. Plus there is an option to max out Gil and license points in a configuration menu.
There will also be support for mouse and keyboards as well. Square Enix has added key assignation via the on-screen HUD, so PC gamers who are more comfortable playing with those items can do so.
There is a bit of mystery around the release of The Zodiac Age for PC. Reports say there is a New Game Plus and New Game Minus content that players get from the start. Those gamers that don’t want to start the game from the beginning will be able to do so. New Game Minus will add an additional challenge to players, as they will not be able to gain any experience points.
This is another addition for PC fans who like the Final Fantasy franchise. There are already a plethora of Final Fantasy titles available for PC excluding Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, and Final Fantasy XV, which will become available for PC gamers soon.
The game’s producer Hiroaki Kato gave some insight into why the PC version took more time to release in relation to the console re-release. Kate said that The Zodiac Age took longer due to the different challenges the production team took on. They not only wanted to update the SD original for Final Fantasy XII to display in HD but they also wanted to re-work the entire game design to fit in with modern gameplay.
He further went on to reveal that the producers decided to work on only one re-release at a time as to make sure each game got the attention it deserved.
When Will Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Arrive?
The Zodiac Age will launch in just a few weeks on Feb. 1 on the PC. The game will be available with a 20 percent discount during the first week of release on Steam.
Unfortunately, there is no word on how much the game will cost yet, but the remastered PS4 version was $49.99 at its launch. So, the PC version will likely be the same price.
