A new Alexa skill may help you become a better Call of Duty: WWII player, with the Amazon digital assistant to act as your personal coach.
There are various Alexa skills for different purposes, helping owners of devices such as the Amazon Echo speakers with their daily tasks. Those skills have now expanded to make people better at playing video games.
Learn To Play Better With 'Call Of Duty' Alexa Skill
Activision has rolled out the beta version of the Call of Duty Alexa Skill, which may be downloaded for free and used with the Alexa companion app.
The Alexa skills offers Call of Duty: WWII players with various support options, namely personalized recommendations, in-game achievements updates, and the ability to compare your performance to your friends.
Players may ask Alexa how well they did after a match in the multiplayer shooter and even ask for advice even while in the middle of a game to improve their chances of winning. Players may also ask Alexa if they have any friends online so that they can team up.
According to Activision, the Call of Duty Alexa Skill utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide players with personalized recommendations, which may include suggestions for certain loadouts, play styles, modes, maps, divisions, and perks.
"It's like having an experienced player sitting next to you while you play," said Activision's senior VP of consumer engagement Monte Lutz in an interview with GamesBeat. He added that the company got the idea from watching players receive advice from personal coaches on how to become better at Call of Duty: WWII.
The verdict on the usefulness of Alexa's recommendations for Call of Duty: WWII players is still up in the air. However, if the advice really leads to improvements, the Call of Duty Alexa Skill may usher in more digital personal coaches for other video games.
The Next 'Call Of Duty' Game
While some fans of the shooter franchise are still trying to improve at Call of Duty: WWII, some are already looking forward to the next game in the series, rumored to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
The latest in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 rumors, however, may be disappointing for some gamers. The title will supposedly be the first game in the franchise to launch without a single-player mode. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will instead focus on multiplayer, which will possibly include a battle royale mode.
