The Overwatch League has suspended the star player of the Boston Uprising over allegations of sexual misconduct against a 14-year-old fan.

It appears that the Overwatch League could not escape controversy among its players, especially after what happened with a former Dallas Fuel player.

Overwatch League Suspends DreamKazper Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations

The Overwatch League has issued an indefinite suspension against Boston Uprising player Jonathan Sanchez, who is better known as DreamKazper. Sanchez, who rose to fame in the Overwatch League as one of the best Western DPS players, is under investigation on allegations of sexual misconduct involving a 14-year-old fan.

According to a statement from the minor that is making the rounds on social media, the 21-year-old Sanchez reached out to her in the guise of friendship. However, things started to take on a sexual tone quickly, with the minor claiming that she was coerced to send explicit images of herself to Sanchez. The underage fan added in Facetime conversations between her and the Overwatch League player, “everything was exposed.”

Making matters worse for Sanchez is that apparently, there is proof that he knew he was engaging in such activities with a minor.

Sanchez has not yet made a comment on the matter. The Boston Uprising, meanwhile, confirmed that it was aware of the allegations, and that it has also issued an indefinite suspension against Sanchez while investigations are underway.

Nothing about the issue has definitely been confirmed, but the evidence against Sanchez appears to be too incriminating to ignore.

Overwatch League Players Are The Weakest Link

The controversy surrounding Sanchez follows several other violations by players against the Overwatch League’s code of conduct, including the suspension and dismissal of Felix “xQc” Lengyel, formerly from the Dallas Fuel.

Lengyel was suspended in January for launching a homophobic slur against a player from an opposing Overwatch League team. He was again suspended in March for making several disparaging statements against other Overwatch League players and casters, pushing the Dallas Fuel to part ways with Lengyel despite being “one of the best Winston players in the world.”

It is a shame that the actions of Lengyel, and now also the allegations against Sanchez, have tainted the inaugural season of the Overwatch League. The Overwatch League is supposed to be Blizzard’s attempt at bringing eSports further into the mainstream, with city-based teams and productions similar to traditional sports leagues.

However, as the sanctions, suspensions, and controversies pile up, it appears that the players may be the weakest link of the Overwatch League.
